John Nojima grew up in primarily blue collar Torrance, California. He attended Loyola Marymount University and while studying for an MBA, he was captain of the men’s basketball team, a Rhodes Scholarship finalist, and the winner of the NCAA “Most Outstanding Graduate” scholarship award. After graduating from law school at Pepperdine University, he returned to Torrance to practice law.
In his busy personal injury practice at Lederer and Nojima, LLP, he now represents many of the same kinds of people that he grew up with – public servants, cops, teachers, utilities workers and professionals. As a personal injury lawyer, John has represented literally thousands of clients and cases over the past 19 years, ranging from auto, truck, motorcycle and MTA accidents, to slip and fall cases, to injuries to children, to construction and building site accidents, to burns from tattoo removal - to name just a few. These unfortunate accidents often result in life changing injuries and medical conditions, including catastrophic injuries and brain and spinal cord injuries that require the most personal, professional and long term – and often highly expensive - medical care and attention. When an individual's life is forever changed and diminished by an injury and the worker experiences a life altering disability, monetary damages must be rightfully obtained so that the client may live his or her life in the most balanced and repaired state possible. As John says, he likes to “right the ship physically, emotionally and financially.”
John will aggressively fight for his client's rightful compensation. As a car accident attorney, John will utilize his years of legal experience and knowledge in order for his client to receive all rightfully due compensation. Insurance companies must be held accountable and responsible and fulfill their duty to compensate the insured and injured. Realizing that every client deserves the best representation possible, John will take the case to court and to trial whenever it is necessary. On the other hand, if the best results can be obtained via a settlement and a potentially lengthy and involved trial can be avoided, John Nojima will settle on his client's behalf - with his client's involvement, permission and understanding. John will stay in contact with the client to make sure he or she is aware of and in agreement with all important decisions. Handling each case personally, John makes sure each client receives the thorough medical evaluations and diagnostics from expert physicians, surgeons and medical specialists as is needed. Therefore, when John goes to court or mediation - a large percentage of cases are settled on the client’s behalf prior to trial in mediation - he has the specific medical, technical and legal information necessary to take his case forward to its best possible resolution. He estimates that he has received and/or settled some $30 - $40 million in damages and compensation on behalf of his clients.
