Matthew Dietz joined Lederer & Nojima, LLP as an associate attorney in July of 2011. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Dietz practiced as an employment attorney, representing individuals who were unjustly terminated or faced unlawful discrimination. Mr. Dietz brought this altruistic passion with him to Lederer & Nojima, where his practice has expanded to include personal injury, premises liability, and wrongful death cases. In November 2011, less than a year after his admittance to the State Bar, he won his first jury trial with a unanimous verdict which more than doubled the defendant insurance company’s previous settlement offer.

Mr. Dietz earned his Bachelor of Science from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations in 2007. During his undergraduate studies, he worked in Geneva, Switzerland for the United Nations’ International Labor Organization. Upon graduation from Cornell, Mr. Dietz received a full merit-based scholarship to Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Dietz was a member Washington University’s Global Studies Law Review, a Rule 13 Certified Student Attorney for the Washington University Civil Justice Clinic, and a research assistant for Professor Marion Crain. He received his Juris Doctorate in 2010.

Mr. Dietz was admitted to the State Bar of California in December of 2010 and is an active member of the California Employment Lawyers Association, the Consumer Attorneys of California, and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles.
